I have never heard of those issues using a B body spindle but Global West sells a negative roll kit for a G body and it contains the taller spindle from the B body and a shorter upper control arm and I doubt they be selling that if what you posted was correct
yeah, ok, right! get real man! they wouldn't sell the components if they were dangerous. the f and b body spindles are known for the increase in bumpsteer and have been for quite awhile. but they're a good camber/roll improver which is why they get used. they only full solution--better brakes, camber, reduced bumpsteer, geometry, strength, are the ATS AFX spindles which are about $1500 and may not be in production anymore. ATS got nailed by the economy and had to temporarily close up shop, then got bought out. i'm not sure if the spindle kits are back in production or not.
granted they're figured out how to mount c5 brakes on the stock g-body spindles, coupled with adjustable arms and tall ball joints, things aren't too bad (except for the bumpsteer)

I recently bought some brackets for my brake swap using the zq8 spindles. My brackets were made by jason hurst?? I bought them from a gentleman who has a going to do this swap on his Monte SS but changed his mind.I had to clearance my arms a bit for these brackets to fit nice and flush with the spindle surfaces. if anybody needs pics let me know. His Monte has the the Zq8 spindles with the Sc&C stage 2 kit . It haves the tall upper ball joints and aftermarket upper control arms made by,
http://www.spcperformance.com/. This company is about 20 miles from my house. As for the Monte SS it rides on the stock rims with Hotchkis springs i believe And let me say it rides very sharp and handles BADASS! It is definitely a upgrade compared to my car. I didn't notice any steering issues or drawbacks though im no expert either. I am saving my pennies for this kit..
I also am looking for some rim suggestions that would work for this swap. I am looking at this wheels. What are you guys using on your set-ups?

As said, this has always been the big negative to the B-body spindle swap from day one. Nothing new there.

By keeping the stock spindle but using the tall upper and lower ball joints, you are effectively making your stock spindle into a "tall" spindle. You gain all of the postives from the better camber curve of the tall spindle without any of the negatives of increased bumpsteer or ackerman angles.

Would you get the same effect using the stock upper control arms or are the aftermarket ones needed?

hmmmmm all I said was I never heard of those issues.....

Yes, you need a shorter upper because of the taller spindle.

The reason GW still sells those kits are because the are selling a stock b-body 12" spindle setup and a 12" Camaro 1LE rotor for $1200. and you still have to buy their $500.+ upper arms. 12" b-bodies use the 5x5 wheel stud pattern but the Camaro 12" retains the g-body 5x4.75 stud pattern.

Same way Baer sells their brakes for $1500 when you can do a C5 swap for less that half of that.

People don't want to do research. They'd rather spend flashy money for flashy parts they just have to bolt on.

Nobody said the b-body swap was *dangerous*. Many guys have put 1000's of miles on this setup. It's just not the best setup anymore. Differant and better ways have been figured out to get even better results.

you said you'd never heard of them but that they can't exist because GW sells parts for it. i'm saying a company will make money any way it can short of dangerous products.

85GPLef41 I re-read what you were asking. Yes you still need the shorter upper arm with the taller ball joints because the stock arm would put the taller upper joint in a bind. The arms that SC&C sells which are SPC arms have the upper ball joint plate at a slightly differant angle to account for this.

I said I never heard of the issues with the steering arm causing a slower steering ratio....."The b-body spindle, due to the longer steering arms, doubles the bumpsteer and also slows down the steering ratio"

and...?? that changes what? you still said the problems don't exist 'cause GW makes parts for the swap. and the b-spindle issues are pretty well known.

I would try Kore3 or ANY other vendor BESIDES Flynbye. The guy was a complete prick when I ordered my brackets for my 9" rear and never did make the front ones like he said he would. Also quit answering e-mails. The brackets I got from him didn't even fit either. The caliper was only about half way on the rotor. The guy is a complete dumb *ss, does poor quality work and takes forever! Another place I have had good luck with is Touring Classics out of Texas. I am not sure if they have a complete G-body set-up or not, but if they did they would be my first choice.
