So Im in the middle of trying to figure out how to make a 700r4 line pressure cable work with a DBW LS set up.
I have an hr this mornng into trying to figure something out. I have found dozens of guys with the looking for a solution to this. Not just GM swap guys but Mopar guys and I can Imagine for guys would have the same issue. Since so many cars are now DBW. Some guys sit there and fab a way to connect the cable to the pedal.
Ive seen guys dish out thousands looking for a solution $$$. New transmission, pull the motor apart to switch to 24 tooth. I think this will be discussed more and more as the newer DBW motors come more available.
So to you guys Im pretty shocked Nobody has made some kind of kit for this. Atleast that I have been able to find.
Well for now Im going to try and fab my own pedal set up.
I figured I would put that out there to give you guys something to do, lol and for the next guy that comes across this to have a solution.
If somebody knows of or already has a Kit that I havent please lmk.

Why use DBW modern technology then take two steps back and use an old trans?

If I was to do this swap I would loose the DBW and get an aftermarket throttle body that works with a cable.

If you are dead set on using the 700 then you can get a manual valve body. That will eliminate the cable.

Your missing my point. Lot of guy have built trannys, Set ups they like or ended up with a motor without a trans and would like to use what they have. Lots of guys do budget builds, Your solutions could cost thousands. Im surprised nobody has made some kind of kit for or MAYBE they havent realized there is a market for a kit like this.

Good point on the tv vs kick down. I did notice alot of guy still dont know the difference.
I have a cable throttle body but its to my knowledge that it wont work with a 58x ECM. If you have the older Pcm's they can do both DBW and DBC but the E38 will only do DBW. I dont really understand why that is but thats what Ive been told.

Just source the correct year 4L60E and swap in your hard parts and modify valve body accordingly. That's what I would do if I was in your shoes.

Its all good Ill either fab a bracket off the pedal, or ill pull the cable and lock it till it blows up, lol.
I just cant believe some of things that are made that you might look at and be like who the hell would buy that. Then you find something that many guys have tried to source nobody makes something for it.
