Can't Decide 76 Toro with a 455

The manifolds above are reproductions of the 442 manifolds. The cast iron 307 manifolds will work but will pull your exhaust pipes up and out with the 455. A good aluminum replacement rad should do, how many cores? I would only get a 2004R only if it has a billet foward drum, deep pan, good clutches etc. CK Performance is a good shop to contact.

It's a Cheap Spectra Premiumm CU162. 1 row Aluminum with Plastic Sides. It doesn't say that it will work with a Big block so I'm assuming it won't. I was thinking 2004R Because 4 speed, I've heard good things About the Art Carr ones. It's annoying to decide but I might just get a High Torque TH350 and save some Money for the inevitable unexpected expensive things.

A 200-4R and 3.42 wI'll be epic with a stone stock 455. It will run on pump gas.

Those 442 reproduction manifolds would be the way to go. Probably get a new or reman starter, as the Toro part will not fit.

I think that aluminum single core will keep up, it has 1 inch wide cores.

After it's done you will ask yourself why didn't GM make em that way.

I used that rad with my 350 and never had overheating problems. No shroud either.

I ran a 455 Buick in an 86 cutlass with the stock dented 307 rad. Only time it got past 195 was when I got stupid with it and then it'd hit 205/210

With the shitty 307 rad in my 88 Cutlass with an Olds 403, under drive pulleys and 5 blade 307 clutch floored the temp gauge quick. That rad should be adequate. I would use the fan off the 455 with the stock shroud. Actually you want a lot of timing with that 455, it will run better. Also if the 307 has it's stock small starter it will not crank the 455 when hot. I forgot about the Toro starter being different. A mini starter is a good option and pretty much necessary for headers down the road. You can use straight pattern sbc starters on the Olds V8.

I think the biggest problem you'll have is to find a new name, 307 Gutless just aint going to cut it...😀
