when i brought my first one home, the rt window was down about an inch and a half and it didn't work so i pulled the door panel and found a 2x4 holding the regulator up.my brother didn't miss a beat saying"i bet there's a GM part number on it"
should've taken it as a sign of things to come with that ride but i was young(er) and stupid(er) back then.

Not on my G body but on a 68 Chrysler Newport I was looking to buy as a beater. Front wheel bearing castle nuts held in with two finishing nails rather than cotter pins. The outer bearing race on the outside right front of same said car had a hose band clamp cut to shim up an incorrect front wheel bearing cup. Passed on that car real fast.

The front wheel bearing castle nuts on my Farmall tractor had nails instead of cotter pins. Pretty common for farmers to substitute cotter pins with nails.

The wagon's power split bench seat was installed with huge stacks of washers and bolted through the floor pan with a fender washer on the outside. I bought and welded in the proper brackets.

Ok this wasn’t on a g body, but years ago I bought a 73 beetle and found a 22 shell in place of a fuse in the fuse box.

rear wheel cylinder was leaking so the brake line was crimped to stop the flow....:blam:

oh wait a sec we did that "repair" on our circle track car....😳
Did you guys not know the correct way to fix that? 7 penny box nail inserted between the line and cylinder.
