Oh the LS is out, I may go with a 383 or LT1. The way your build is looking I may just go with a 406 and let you build it.
I got you.

Re: Crucial118's 86 Cutty Salon Transformation Build

Wasup guys? Had to take a break from the downpipe because I had to order another 180 degree pipe to finish(I hope). I thought I could get it all done with what I had, but it turned out that I had to go up from the upper a-arm, but under the ac box. Pain in the *ss, but I think I can get it with a couple more bends. May not be the prettiest, but once I wrap it nobody will be able to tell. Any who, I ordered my silicone couplers, reducers, and t-clamps, and bought some 3" charge pipe. Everywhere I checked for a bead-roller(to stop the couplers from blowing off under boost) wanted like $150 and up. Not trying to spend that type of $$$ to bead a couple of pipes, so I went online and came across something interesting on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVDUM2Zx ... hQ&index=3 shows how to make an inexpensive bead-maker out of a crimp tool and a grinder. It didn't take much time to make and actually makes a pretty good, quick bead around the pipe.

Re: Crucial118's 86 Cutty Salon Transformation Build

Finally finished the hot side today. Had to tack the flanges and o2 bungs on the downpipe, because my Lincoln 140 can't penetrate. I'll take them to work with me on Monday and have a steamfitter buddy of mine weld them. The downpipe was a pain in the *ss to make. Because of the ac box and upper a-arm I couldn't make it in one piece, had to make it a 2 piece with a 3.5 v-band connection. Thank God I'm finished. For now, it is just gonna dump under the passenger foot sheetmetal. I will have to get some more pipe(maybe oval) to turn it out in front of the passenger rear wheel. I wanted to start on the cold side this weekend, but because of all the snow we got in the DMV this week(12"+), my USPS, UPS, and Fedex deliveries are MIA  Time for the waiting game.

Re: Crucial118's 86 Cutty Salon (TURBO)Transformation Build

I had a chance to paint and wrap the downpipe. I only wrapped the upper half of the downpipe. Turned out pretty good. Next up will be to get the blow-off valve flange burned into the charge pipe and wrap and paint the crossover pipe.

Cool. Just in time for Spring 😀 Where did you get your headers coated, AFI in Jessup? Did it cost alot?

Thanks for the info. AFI, in Jessup, does ceramic and powder coatings also. Maybe I'll go see them to get the pipes coated next winter or something, when the funds get back up. For now, the wrap will have to do. I'm trying to finish this project.

I am ready to hear it run. You taking it to OC or Carlisle this year?
