Re: Crucial118's 86 Cutty Salon (TURBO)Transformation Build

Guess it all depends on what happens when I turn the key for the first time. Depends on how many bugs I'll have to work out. I hope I get a chance to cruise and show. My other project, 67 Lemans, is also getting ready for paint. So once I get it back, more of my focus is going toward getting it road worthy. My 67 has been getting rust/body work for 1 year now. I'm geeking like a dope fiend to get it back. He said it should be ready by mid March.

Re: Crucial118's 86 Cutty Salon (TURBO)Transformation Build

I got a powder coater and media blaster 2 years ago and they are still in the box. Once my Cutlass is done, I will be working on the MC and will try the powder coater out on it. I am not doing it the way I did my Cutlass, because that was too much dam money I spent on it. I am looking for a block now for the MC, maybe a 350, 400 or LT1 (maybe add turbo). Also I fell the same about my car, glad its about to be painted. I will not be showing any pictures of it till its done now, but I will show little pictures here and there.

Wasup guys? Had to take a break from the downpipe because I had to order another 180 degree pipe to finish(I hope). I thought I could get it all done with what I had, but it turned out that I had to go up from the upper a-arm, but under the ac box. Pain in the *ss, but I think I can get it with a couple more bends. May not be the prettiest, but once I wrap it nobody will be able to tell. Any who, I ordered my silicone couplers, reducers, and t-clamps, and bought some 3" charge pipe. Everywhere I checked for a bead-roller(to stop the couplers from blowing off under boost) wanted like $150 and up. Not trying to spend that type of $$$ to bead a couple of pipes, so I went online and came across something interesting on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVDUM2Zx ... hQ&index=3 shows how to make an inexpensive bead-maker out of a crimp tool and a grinder. It didn't take much time to make and actually makes a pretty good, quick bead around the pipe.

That is cool, i have to make them! Thanks for the link and build is looking good!

No problem. The tool surprisingly works like a charm. And thanks for the compliments.

My bad. It's public now.

Thanks. That's with no exhaust, just a 3.5" downpipe under the passenger foot area. The turbo quiets down the open pipes. I think I'm gonna get the Borla XR-1 mufflers. I did a bunch of youtube searches and I think they sound awesome.

Updates for ya'll. Still have to calibrate my Innovate wb o2 and install in the downpipe. Still have to start playing with my Moates.net toys. Still have to get an exhaust. Some pics of how she sits right now.
