Nice guy, and good products! I have been using Moates stuff for 8 years.

Yeah, I''ve bought from them before and they are good people. But I have no clue on how to tune. I've been doing a lot of research on the stuff, and I think until I hook it up and start playing with it, I will not get it. I think code59 is what I want to use. I might pm you, liquidh8, if I have questions(if you don't mind).

Yeah man. When I first got mine burner way back, I was having issues with it. It wasn't his gear, it was my ECM. In any case, Craig stayed on the phone with me as I sorted through it. Good dude for sure.

Have you looked around on thirdgen.org? Code 59, you using a '7730? TunerPor RT? you going to turbo it? You PM me whenever. 😀

I've been on thirdgen.org, code59.org, google, youtube, everywhere the internet takes me to saturate my mind with this programming stuff. I already have the turbo installed. I'm gonna use the '7730 with the code59. I got a 3-bar map sensor and downloaded the files to TunerPro RT already. Now gotta download it to the ostrich and start emulating. And thanks for letting me hit you up when I get stumped. 😀

Re: Crucial118's 86 Cutty Salon (TURBO)Transformation Build

This is crazy but my plan for my hot side is almost exactly like yours. I already got Sanderson CC2 headers but both are like your passenger side header. But I'll have the charge pipe coming toward the front of the car since my wagon will be intercooled and it'll also blow thru a 600 Holley double pumper. I gotta find to time to read your whole thread but how is your fuel delivery?

I thought about the Sanderson's, but they were expensive, so I went with the others. The Sanderson's will make your pipes look better for sure and you shouldn't have a problem with the driver's side hitting your valve cover. I was going to put a ic on later, in the same way as you, but I'm only doing 6-7 lb of boost, so ic isn't needed right now. Figured I'd put the $$$ elsewhere. Fuel delivery is thru stock 3/8 line, 5/16 custom return, walbro 255, 24lb inj. Gonna upgrade to 42lb inj soon. Haven't downloaded the tune to the ecm yet, so I'm not sure how it will run with the starter tune. You might need a bigger carb tho.

I bought the Sandersons for $200 new off ebay, they seemed like they would be the best fit since I have stock accessory brackets and plan on keeping the A/C. My system will be similar to your but with a Aeromotive 13301 boost referenced fuel regulator, As for the carb, I thing it shole be ok on the 305 SBC I plan on using as my "learning tool". When I'm comfortable or blow up the 305, I plan on dropping in a 350 I have or get me a 327 small journal. maybe them I'll step up to a 750 cfm. The good thing is Holley double pumpers 650-800 cfm share the same base plate and I have a 650 body on the shelf. What kinda boost you plan on running? And any dyno/track time in the plans?

Oh, that wasn't too bad. Mine were $130. Right now just 6-10lbs of boost. I had to redo the o2 bung that was originally installed. It was too close to the turbo per instructions(should be a min of 24" away from turbo). So I installed the included 1" bung just upstream from the nb o2 I installed for the ecm. Next I calibrated it per specs and installed it in the bung and started looking at my afr's. Next up I downloaded a base code59 tune and adjusted a few #s and took it out of the garage and went around the block. I got the afr to stay around 14.0-14.7 at idle. I tried to go around the block without getting into boost, but the boost kicks in pretty early, around 2000 or so. Felt strong. Can't wait to really get into it. 😀
