You are very welcome. Waiting for more! Haven't messed with the malibu this past week because of being on 24 hr call at work for the week. Going to do a little to it this week as I have a few more little rust spots to attend to before r&r of roof. Thanks for asking.
I'll be watching for your updates bud.

Sold the Toploader transmission yesterday (Wednesday). I think it was a good deal for both parties which is rewarding. It will be going to Topeka, Kansas and going in a black-on-black Q code (427) 64 Galaxie that has been undergoing a restoration for two years. I get the sense the buyer is having the car restored. Dad and I are both fairly pleased that this rare transmission is going into the correct car and is helping make a rare car whole again. Since we love pics on this forum, here is a picture of the car that the Toploader is going in. The buyer indicated this pic is from two years ago and that it looks much better now. This one is for you Donovan.....

Wow!! It's great to see a rare car like that being restored...and seeing the right parts go to a worthy cause.

Time for an update on the Galaxie. Dad and Sean had a good weekend. They got all of the refinishing work done on the back side of the trunk drop off and inner rocker. They got the outside of the frame rail touched up. They got the refinishing/undercoating done in the wheelhouse. They got the rear bumper dropped, which is no fun on this car with the mufflers in place. They did some touch up bodywork at the lower rear of the quarter panel. They did some touch up body work done on the driver's side fender. They got the rocker, quarter and front fender all in epoxy primer. The primer flowed out really nice this time. Next weekend they will work on painting the jamb and front cowl section with the Centari gloss black. Then the passenger front fender can go back on.

My contributions lately have been towards improving the state of the garage. I got the Toploader that I talked about above off of the workbench, got it to my house, got it restored to its original configuration, and got it sold. I listed it on Sunday and it sold on Wednesday. I hauled off all of the dirty lacquer thinner (from cleaning the gun, etc.) to the Household Hazerdous Waste site. Between our house and dad's house we had about 12 gallons of waste lacquer thinner. This weekend I hauled a lot of the tools we had brought over to dad's home including stuff like my spot welder and Sean's stud gun. I got all those tools put up at our house. I also hauled off a bunch of scrap metal that was left over from cutting out the patches and the stuff that we cut off the car. Sean came home yesterday afternoon with the replacement (wide ratio) Toploader so I'll be getting started on overhauling it and getting it set up for the Gear Vendors overdrive. Once Sean and Dad are done with the bodywork we are going to pull the wing windows and replace the seals. Those seals only recently became available thanks to the efforts of Dad and I. It took about 2 years but they are being reproduced now. After that I think we will dive headlong into the Gear Vendors overdrive conversion. We went and looked at my brother's car at the Painter's house on Saturday. It looks amazing. Unfortunately the painter already has two square body Chevy trucks over there so I'm guessing he has 20 weeks of work ahead of him. Hopefully we can get the Galaxie over there in September or October for paint. It will be good for it to be shot in the good fall weather anyway. Enough rambling on. Here are some pics of the weekend's progress....
