Yep, quadrajets are GREAT carbs but they are a pain to figure out when they go wrong. That's why they reccomended grabbing a few books about the carbs. These tend to scare away most car guys and then garner names like "Quadrapuke" and "Quadrajunk" because people are dumb and don't want to take the time to learn about them. You will be very pleased if you get a rebuilt qjet. You can skip the fancy plating stuff if he offers that and just spray it with eastwood carb paint if you don't want it to look ugly.

Yeah mine is definitely ugly. I'll remember that paint for when the time comes.

Mask off EVERYTHING that has anything to do with entering the carb. The ports, base plate, centuries, etc. If you do it right it looks MINT. Eastwood Carb Renew.
