I need a fan clutch for my 1988 Monte Carlo SS 305 engine and was wondering what is a good brand and part number for a fan clutch, I was thinking about the Hayden 2747 and are there any fan cluches that are made in the USA?Thanks

I'd have to look for numbers but I've had good luck using the Hayden clutches. I've used 3 on my cars and the fans.

The Hayden 2747 is the unit I have in my 88 Super Sport and works perfect.
In my 79 Monte Carlo I have a Hayden 2797 severe duty unit that was left from my El Camino. Never had any issues with Hayden fan clutches.

Good choice. THe 2797 is 3" shorter for use with fatter radiators. Other than that, I believe they're the same as the 2747. Both should work fine whichever you choose.

Personally I put a drop of BLUE Loctite which is service removable.

studs with lockwashers under the nuts is how the factory did it. If they're in good shape, they'll do you just fine. Blue loctite is optional, but I have done it the old fashioned way without loctite and never had one come loose.
