Fast EZ-Efi Fuel Return Hook-Up

OK, I finally got my cutlass running today with my Fast Ez-Efi. Its been a long time coming because I had blown a converter and while waiting for that I decided to upgrade to EFI. It runs good. I will drive it tomorrow (chance of rain right now)

Well I hooked my return to the fuel vapor line. When I went to set my fuel pressure it was constantly at 62psi. No matter where I adjusted it too it was alway there. I had a feeling it had something to do with hooking it up to the vapor line. Well I dropped the tank and on my cutlass I have a 2 line sending unit. When i removed the sending unit I noticed that on the inside of the tank there was what looked like an oil baffle covering the vapor line. I removed that and then noticed that there was a little pin hole. I drilled it out to the same size as the vapor tube. Re-installed and I got perfect fuel pressure. If i were to do it again I think I would just get a sending unit out of a fuel injected g-body.

Glad to see you got it figured out! I installed the FAST EZ-EFI on a customer's '69 Camaro RS/SS recently, and I just drilled a hole in the top of his stock sending unit, welded in a steel 3/8 return line, and used a compression style AN adapter. I then plumbed the rest with aluminum hard line. It works very well, even in corners, but I wouldn't recommend this type of setup for anyone who autocrosses. 1/4 is definitely too small; I'd go at leaat 5/16.

The line I got mine hooked up to is 5/16". Seems to be fine. I drove it today and it does have more power then over the carburetor. Nice setup.

I would think it would be, especially on a stronger motor (less fuel to return to the tank). I used 3/8 because I had the line and fittings on hand. I loved how it fired up on the first try, and drove better and better every time we tested it. Even the first time out, it was way better than the carb that was on it. The owner loves it, and says its the best choice he's ever made for the car.

I used the vapor line on my '75 Formula with the LT1 swap, no problems at all.

How do you plumb the an line to the vapor line and to the feed?

in the kit they supply some really heavy duty hose claps. I just pushed it onto the steel line and used 2 clamps. But make sure you drop the tank and pull the sender. Theres only a small hole in for the vapors. I had to drill mine.

So your return is plumbed under the hood to the vent where the charcoal canister used to be? Or did you run an all the way to the front? How about the supply?

Ok, the kit comes with fuel pump, regulator, and fuel line. Pump must be mounted below the tank because its gravity fed. I have mine mounted ontop of the trans crossmember. From the tank sender to the pump I used there black an line. They are just push on barb using their supplied heavy duty clamps. Then I put the filter onto the pump and ran my stainless braided line to the throttle body. The from the throttle body I ran my stainless line to the regulator. From the regulator I again ran their black line to the vapor line on the tank. I had to drop the tank and pull the sender. Underneath the vapor line there is a baffle spot welded in. I removed that. Then on the under side there was a pin hole for the vapor line and I drilled that out to the same side as the tube for less restriction. I again just put the black line on the steel line using the heavy duty clamp. Sorry no under car shots. I need to jack it up to take those.
