Fishing (2020)

How tight did he have them? Even slightly tight I can't move them. This is pretty tight with the cordless impact. I can move them closer to the cross frame. Our Lund has cross channels so it can't move side to side on the trailer plus a rear hold down strap along with the front strap and a channel that fits in the front roller and it's hold down. Our last trailer had three sets of rollers, we could crank the boat basically on dry. Just the axle shifted and was basically waisted. Our new Caravan trailer needs to be deep enough to get on and off with the carpet on the bottom, it adds friction, helps it from moving around especially once dry.

Nice. I would have through-bolted it with stainless bolts at the outer and inner frame rail but I tend to go overboard on stuff like that.

The aluminum boats are light and do swing around a lot in the wind. I found that if I got out closer to the boat I could snap the hook on the bow eye and drag it straight in a lot easier. So I used some swimming pool extruded aluminum top rails to make a walkway out to the middle of the trailer. Stainless fasteners for salt water. Now I can walk out, snap the hook, and pull the boat right in without it wandering. No need to go swimming and I can do it alone. Whalers need keel support so the rollers take the weight. The bunks are for lateral support and act as guides. Once the keel hits the first roller it comes in straight. EZPZ.View attachment 152404View attachment 152406

just wondering how many minutes did you wait for the paint to dry before loading it on the trailer.....😊

Actually that was a misguided attempt to bottom-coat it while ON the trailer. Never again. I welded up some cradles that allow me to jack the hull up and off so I can roll the trailer out from under it. Then I can concentrate on getting bottom paint all over myself instead of the trailer. Well, Wednesday was a whooping two at Crooked Lake. Thursday we went to Last Mountain Lake. At 75 miles long, it is South Saskatchewan largest natural lake. Supposed to have big Pike and 10+ pound Walleye are common. We caught nothing, didn't see anyone else catch either. We went to Fishing Lake again today, for a half day. Honestly we would have went there everyday if the wind cooperated. Today, 25+ fish, mostly Walleye. My best Pike was maybe 5 pounds. I won the day with my 26" Walleye. My new scale read 4 lbs 14 oz, can't be right. Should weigh 7.2 lbs on average for that length, a nice fat fish. A 7 pound Walleye is no slouch.Resized_20200724_084650.jpegResized_20200724_084653.jpegResized_20200724_084111.jpegResized_20200724_083526.jpeg

We caught 5 tonight on our reservoir tonight after work. 3 Walleye and Pike for me. One Pike for my Wife. Both Pike around the 2 or 3 pound mark. Here is the smallest and biggest Walleye made fun of me not getting a pic of the mid size one.20200728_195850.jpgFB_IMG_1595997110646.jpgFB_IMG_1595994612209.jpgFB_IMG_1595994620503.jpg
