I got bundled up and went outside. I pushed both cars out to clean up the mess and put tools up. Got about an hour in before I decided to forget this crap. Its in the low 40s and the wind is blowing like hell. I might get to put a full day in tomorrow but we'll see. What my phones weather report says and what it really is, is two different things.

I finally got the last spots primered. Its in the 40s and I was cold but got it done. In a couple days I'll 180 dry block the primered areas to make sure their flat. Then I'll scuff up the whole car and put on a couple good heavy coats of black urethane primer. After that sits about 3-4 days, I'll wet sand with 400 and paint this sucker. I washed most of my buffing pads this morning and have them hanging in the shower to dry. Its so cold that I want that primer to have a few days between messing with it. I removed and re seam sealed the spots that wrinkled when I put on the bed liner in the floor boards. Every little bit is progress.

I'm actually still priming. I'm having to wait about an hour between coats cause its so cold. Got a little primer left in the gun so I'm going to spray it all out instead of dumping it. The bottom of the doors and rockers is what I'll keep laying it on. They were wavy.

I'm getting excited. Can't wait to see it in color.
You and me both. If I can get the color on it and buffed, it will go like clock work on reassembly. It really eases my mind knowing the engine and front frame stub is done. The one thing that I'm worried about is the striping. I think I'll put on the base and one good coat of clear. I'll then go in the next day and tape off the lower stripes, gray scotch brite it, and apply the gold base. I'll unmask and put about 3 or 4 coats of clear on everything. I did an SS 70 Chevelle convertible about 10 years ago. It was in winter so everything was slowed down. I did the body black cherry pearl base, let it sit about 3 hours, taped off the SS stripes and based them pearl white. When I pulled the tape, it pulled a couple spots of the black cherry. This is why I'm going to put on a coat of clear. Just covering my butt I guess. I'm color sanding and buffing the whole car anyway so some of it will be removed.

Looking good, and like you said, anything is progress. I did the same thing with my floor pans on the inside, bedliner. Along with bedliner on the underside.

Of coarse its sunny and mid 50s today when I have to go do the Christmas thing  I pushed it outside and put the rubber door bumpers in it and put a strap across the doors. I don't want the wind blowing the doors back and forth chipping up my jambs. I want the sun and warmer weather to help speed up the cure on the primer.

I had to put down my dog this morning at the vet. He's been with us 16 years and I had a huge bond with him. I took him everywhere. His kidneys failed so there was no fixing him. I'll probably not mess with the car for a few days. Gotta mend this broken heart.
