Cool, I'm glad I'm not the only one that likes the Calais grilles. I spent the rest of the day cleaning/restoring small parts. I now have three 12x12 boxes full of individually wrapped or bagged smalls. I've had a gallon of Evapo Rust in a Tupperware container in the spare bath tub for about a week. I've soaked all kinds of hardware and small parts. I even rewrapped my tail harness with electrical tape cause some of it was unraveled. I cleaned the visible wires and plugs for the trunk harness too.

Really liking the progress and the attention to detail on this build! Very nice work!

I was wondering when I read that you redid the rear light harness...if you had the little covers that help trim where the wires come through the sheet metal..

this would make a nice finishing touch. I have a few here if you needed.

I'm needing a leaf/cowl screen on the top part of the AC/heater box. The ones I have are sunfaded and flakey. Does anyone have a very nice one they could sell me? I'm wanting a near perfect one on the coloring of the plastic. I tried the heat gun trick but it made it blotchy. I tried 1000 grit paper but can't get it to shine back up.

I absolutely cannot believe the weather here. I took my dog out at 8 am and it was raining. I took her out again at 9:30 am and its ice. Its been 3 weeks since I based the body. The only good thing about the crappy weather for 3 weeks was that I cleaned, painted and restored a lot of the small parts and hardware in the house. The house looks like a garage with parts everywhere but the wife has not said one word about it.

We got some 60 degree days comin!!!! Woo Hoo. I spent all day again today painting stock hardware. I dumped another gallon of evapo rust in my tote and dropped in the emergency brake pedal assembly and the hood hinges. Was trying to figure out what to use on the folding license plate bracket. It is galvanized so I'm going to try hammertone paint to get that similar look. I'll shoot on some clear when I clear the body to keep gas from lifting it. I've been in a mess trying to figure out what to do about the chrome side covers on the seats. 3 of my lowers are not great and it was going to be irritating to have them on new seat covers. So I bit the bullet and bought brand new ones. I want the car to look showroom new and this was my only option. My wallet is still crying! Lol

There was supposed to be loads of bitter cold out here this morning. However, it was 20 at dawn and 50 at 2pm. It was a lousy day to be indoors at work...

With luck, this is headed your direction. I'm eager to see some more progress posted.
