Got a Jeep shaft coming from a fellow member. I was worried about getting the original steering shaft to look showroom new since the rubber was torn. This upgrade is a big help. Got on Summits website and found a Billet Specialties radiator cap and oil fill cap that matches. Then found a wing nut that matched too. I'll etch prime and paint them semi gloss black. Could have bought black ones but they were more expensive so I'll paint them myself. Also got a pair of Ring Brothers billet hood stop adjusters. These will look nice on my smoothed top core support. Got black ones so they won't be so noticeable.

Found out my niece is wanting my 55 in her wedding in late June. This is going to be a CRUNCH to get both cars done. Wish I was 10 years younger with a good back. My problem is space. If the 55 was out of my way, I could work non stop on the Olds. Thinking of renting a storage building but curious about the Pods which is a shipping container they bring to your place. This way its bare metal wont get wet. Too much metal work to do before priming

I dug the complete heater/AC box out of my shed. Brought it in the house and started taking it apart for cleaning and resealing. The box door seals are crumbling apart. There's a chunk broke out of the main center vents port. I may just go get another box from another car. This is a big pain in my *ss cause they suck to remove from another car. I guess its gotta be done though. I'm hoping that 82 Cutlass is still at my local U pull yard. The column was already gone and most of the dash was removed or destroyed.

Just got back from my U-Pull it yard. 36 degrees, cold, wet, and snow patches everywhere. The Cutlass was still there. There was nothing left except the heater box assembly and I grabbed it. Somebody cut the heater vacuum hoses and plug in for the climate control but I'll use that off mine. The door seals in the box were still soft. It cost me $56 cause it still had the AC dryer and heater core in it. I forgot to take big wrenches to remove the dryer but I'm happy with the price.

Good score!
Lucky it wasn't already smashed my some inconsiderate person before you!
At the rate people seem to be ripping a/c boxes out of their cars, good parts are going to start getting hard to find...

I tore the box apart to clean it and the door seal fell apart. Now I have to figure something out. I guess I need to go to my local Chevy dealer and see if its available. I doubt it though. Probably be making one but don't know what to do yet. Need to find some rubber sheeting that I can glue on with weatherstrip adhesive.

I ran a hot soapy bath and threw the dash vent ducting in it. It was nasty dirty/dusty inside. I used a bottle brush and cleaned them out. I need to dig out my defroster ducts and get them cleaned too. This way when I turn on my fan motor, it wont blow dust or some funky smell out. I also cleaned and polished my seat belt retractors, trunk stop bumpers, and my AC condenser rubber cushions.

I have an ac box here, I could sneak a peak and see if that door is in decent shape.

I disassembled my heater box for cleaning and resealing. After taking everything apart and seeing how everything works and goes together, I can see how with enough rainfall, water could get into the car. All the old sealer was cracked and pieces were gone. I have these parts in a hot bath with Dawn dish soap. I'm going to use a scrub brush to remove the dirt and grime. I'll reseal it all. I remember a Monte I had a few years ago. After it rained, I could smell damp dirt/mud. I had cleaned out the bottom so it could drain at the flapper door but it always stunk.
