I see you're using summit brand paint. Are you using single stage or two stage basecoat/cleacoat. what is your opinion of their paint system? I like the salon its definitely a unique build I will have to go back to the beginning of this thread and read up on the build. I like the four speed youre putting into this. Where did you acquire the clutch/brake pedal assembly?? Looking forward to more updates!

It rained yesterday and some today so of coarse when I need to work on my car, I can't push the 55 out. I got a call from the shop I used to work at today. He needs me mon, tues, and wed next week. I was going to spray the car Monday but now have to wait till Thursday. Whatcha bet its raining Thursday???

I've also been thinking of repainting my engine the original GM blue. I already have it body color but not feelin it anymore. My vision for the car is to look all original but smoothed and clean. Decisions, decisions

Think I figured out a few things on the transparency of my base. The mix is 2-1 which is thin anyway. It seems thick to me so I over reduced it before which made it more transparent. I took apart my new base coat gun and it had a 1.3 needle and tip. In the case is a 1.5 needle and tip. I swapped them out. I did not over reduce this time and it seemed to cover pretty good but my garage is dark. I just mixed the clear and came in to grab a drink. Gonna re tack rag it and spray on some clear. I hope its not tiger striped. I criss crossed the panels after I coated them. Fingers crossed.

Had a bad issue but a sand and buff will fix it. The clear coat hardner I bought was fast. Its 95 degrees outside. It has dry spray real bad but was going to sand/buff anyway. I'm going to spray the gold lower stripe probably Thursday. That's why it looks darker near the bottom. I was trying to save as much base as I could. I don't think I got any striping but not going to get it fully out in the sun till that clear sets up a bit more. I love the color. I originally wanted to clear last after stripes were done but its gonna be time consuming taping off the 442 billboards and stripes. Did not want to scuff the whole car again since this was the 3rd time. I don't really mind a raised edge on the stripes. That's the way they were originally anyway.

I had some base and clear left over that was mixed so I used it up. I painted the aero mirrors, rear license plate filler panel, and the fiber optic signal indicator housings. Its covering the required black sealer with 3-4 coats now. Amazing what a bigger needle and not over reducing does. Lol

Lookin' good, man. Nice color choice.
