Went to install my driveshaft and one of my caps was gone. Had a new u joint here so I swapped it out. I hate melting out the plastic. I forgot to poke holes in the old rubber and it popped on me. I had safety glasses on though. Got the steering column painted and assembled and finished up some tidbits. Not happy with todays progress. I have to work tomorrow and Wednesday so that sucks.

I still don't have the big black wire with orange stripe figured out. I installed it on the top row and plugged the other end in the fuse box on Batt. I checked the junction block with my meter and its not squaking at me when one leads on top row and others on bottom. I guess I'm going to have to take a trip to a salvage and look at this on another car.

Do you have power seats?

Just got back from my local U-Pull it yard and grabbed some vinyl vacuum hose from under the dash of an Olds 4 door that's still nice and soft. I got gray and purple. Mine are dry rotted outside the heat/ac box. Will splice them in. Wanting them to appear original. Where do the gray and purple go on a 305 equipped Olds guys? If I'm remembering right, the gray goes to the heater valve??? The purple is a mystery though. Lol

The grey goes to the heater control valve, the purple would go to manifold vacuum, or the vacuum pod if your car came with one. Some g-bodies have the round vacuum pod right the by the a/c accumulator.

Got home 2 hours early. I got the trans filled with oil, got the driveshaft bolted in, greased all the front end, installed some nut rivets in my frame rail for a metal fuel filter with old 60s era coil bracket for a clamp, and checked to see if I filled the rear end. I could not remember. Getting ready to place an order at Summit for some smalls. Going to get a Velcro heat sleeve for my starter harness cause its too close to the manifold. Going to get a muffler heat shield, drilled and slotted rotors, and a Russell braided stainless brake hose set.

:popcorn:getting close

Got a lot of tidbits done and hooked up a battery to this thing. I pushed in on the clutch and it turned over. Got no plugs or wires on it yet. I just finished smoking and stinking up my house! I blasted my exhaust manifolds and sprayed them with the new VHT flame proof cast gray. It says to bake at 250 for 30 mins, let cool for 30 mins, bake again at 400 for 30 then cool for 30, bake again at 600 for 30 and cool for 30. Went through all this crap and currently have the windows open and the AC going. Called the wife and told her to go shopping after work. Lol

I'll see your tale and raise you one. Quart of POR-15. Parked it on the washing machine. Wife started a load of wash. Clunk. Wife opens laundry room door (connects to garage). Rapidly pooling black stinky paint. sh*t, sh*t, sh*t , sh*t, sh*t!!! Using two pieces of cardstock, I managed to scoop up 90% of the paint and put it back in the can. Luckily I also ordered the thinner which took it off the tile, and, unbelievably, out of the grout. Wife took kids to the park and the ice cream store. And I thought a tequila hangover was bad....
