About three hours to prep all the little parts for the entire wiper system. I used many different colors to break the parts up but still be tasteful and appear stock. The wiper motor works but looked like hell. I sprayed the lower tube of the wiper motor satin black because 55,56, and 57 Chevy electric wiper motors are done this way. I know the Salon is not a tri Chevy but I like the look. To me it looks OEM. I have a lot of work in my smoothed firewall so all the small parts have to look fresh. Going to grab a late lunch then re grease the linkages and cog. Then it's assembly time.

Man, am I pissed. Was changing the steering column plastic bushing at the engine bay when I noticed dried leak stains down the side of the engine block. Got to checking it out and noticed the head gasket has been seeping. Oil is fine and no signs on the plugs. I had the same mishap a few months ago with a 350 I built for my El Camino. It ended up being my Cal Hawk torque wrench having really weak calibration. So I guess it's a good thing I found it now instead of driving somewhere and being stranded. Glad the front clip and AC compressor stuff is not on yet. I was getting so close too.

Today is about 83 degrees and zero wind so I prepped my smoothed core support for black base. I will put on 2 coats of matte clear in about 30 minutes. Still has not fully flashed off in pic

Here is my favorite core support upgrade. This is a pic of the El Camino but they are the same as my Salons. I removed the ugly hood bumpers and welded in a 5/16x18 nuts for the Ring Brothers hood bumpers.

As Matt said, your suttle mods are definitely a step above! I love seeing and doing stuff like that because most people strolling through a show just looking won't even notice. However, the true gearheads like most of us will see it and appreciate as well as respect the time and effort that goes into such suttle mods!!!!
I've got plenty of touches like that on my cutlass that most will never catch onto.
Keep up the outstanding work!!!! Can't wait to see it finished!!!

It's the custom touches that make me stop and stare... and chat to the owner of the car at cruise nights. Those are the things that show the thought, care and passion for the hobby. Well done Hafrod.

Which hood bumpers did you get? The short or the tall? I've been looking at getting a set of those for some time now but wasn't sure which ones would work better on our cars. Much appreciated!
