Thanks! shims weren't needed either. I'm glad it started right up. Might be able to make it to the car show Sunday. What a relief 😎

Thank you everyone for tips and part recommendations! As well as putting up with my "negative Nancy" attitude. This starter is already night and day difference. No hesitation at all to start the car. Sweet feeling of Victory

I think my gf had a *rg*sm when the car was idling. She loves that exahust sound. Kinda tempted to straight pipe it now.

It's not ready to be driven yet, few things left ro do. I will find out tomorrow when I drive it.

Drove it for about a half hour. Shut it off and turn the key.........and it started right up. Think I can say heat soaking is no longer gonna be an issue
