Let's also not forget the 4l75e is a 7004r with a lot of plastic surgery. The 7004r was designed by coked up 70's Detroit engineers to give anemic 140hp 305 5500lb square bodies some lugging power to tug boats up the boat launch.

It has a 1-2 gear ratio split that should have been replaced in 94 when vortec heads and LT1's came out, in 99 when LS's came out, or in 07 when Gen IV LS's came out but nooo.

Also it's not like a different gear set isn't available...

I have a fully built billet 4L70E and I ever wouldn't consider putting a consistent "1000" hp to it - hell 650 scares me.
