What style Qjet? The later carbs seem to harder to find rods for. Cliff Ruggles carries jets, secondary rods and 44 K primary rods for the M4M carbs. Carburetor.com and Greg Gessler also have sites and carry parts. I have bought from Ruggles and Carburetion.com with good luck.
Dude, that's a dangerous taunt on here. I'm a Holley fan too, but most of the guys on here like the factory correct Q Jets. I'd pick your battles carefully my friend. Just givin' you a heads up...
I'm not a fan of the Q Jets myself, I find them cumbersome, overly complicated, and a pain to work on. I had an 850 cfm Quadrajet on my '76 Cutlass years ago and I hated it 'cause I could never get it to run right even after a rebuild. Wish I had've hung onto it tho, 'cause I probably could've sold it now for a tidy profit and retired on the earnings! 😛
The problem with Quadrajets is that there are so many guys out there that think they know what they are doing when rebuilding & tuning them when the reality is they don't have a clue. I love them and will not run anything else on my wagon. If I need something better, the next step is fuel injection which is the direction I am heading on my next project. 😎
I found my cutlass has more power and starts easier with my modified q-jet than it did with the 670 street avenger. And not that I've ever recorded it, but i'm sure it's getting better mileage.
If you dont prefer the quadrajet over a holley you simply dont know how a quadrajet works and how to tune it.
That is no sin though. They're complex. Most car guys are not really that clever or technically able to understand the inner workings of a car. If in doubt, join a gbody group on facebook (or any other classic car group) and be prepared to be amazed at the level of stupidity posted daily.
"What is the firing order of my (GM) engine ?"
Retard, if you dont know, google it. It will take you 5 seconds to find out. Instead you use a minute to post the question on facebook and show how incredibly stupid you really are.
Those guys cant tune a quad either. But their cousin once slapped a holley on a beat up sbc and had good results, so they will too.
That's my opinion.
The only thing better than a quad is sequential fuel injection. Period.
