It's good to see other over 60 guys still in the game. Hang in there brothers. 😀

your dog sure isn't camera shy...🙂

He was actually drunk - one of the ladies set her drink down to go in the motorhome and he got it. We were worried about, good thing he's big boy.

I'm one of them,64 and never thought I'd make it this far. I'm one of those guys who played alot of contact sports and with other events have had 4 major concussions I can remember and a few minor ones. They cause me some problems but life goes on and my GP hobby keeps me sotra sane. Starting off with another therapist tonite trying to make me into a normal person....haha

i'm 28 have had my Malibu for 3 years now. have been a gear head/raced cars since highschool. I went searching for a Gbody 3 years ago as a bit of nostalgia, as my parents had a 1982 Grand Prix i loved as a kid.

I'm 40. When I was four years old my dad bought a basket case 57 Chevrolet 2-door hardtop, Bellaire. He did a frame off restoration in about three years. I'm still amazed by it. He had the money and the time. He did all of the work except that he had it painted. That car gave me the bug. My brother (five years older) was all about sports and girls. I just wanted to be in the garage with dad.

The first G-body to make a big impression on me was my step-dad's 83 Hurst Olds. It was new when he met my mother. I thought it was the coolest car. Of course I always liked the Monte SS back in those days. In high school a friend of mine had a 79 Regal with a 455. I had an S10 Blazer. I was jealous. His daddy had a Grand National (can't remember the year) and a GNX, which resided in it's own garage in the back yard. They also had a ZR1 Corvette. Needless to say, they had money. Late in my high school years after I got my first truck, my step-dad got rid of the family car he was driving (hand-me-down from my mom) and bought an 84 Cutlass Supreme Brougham. Black with a black landau top and grey interior. It was a pretty nice car. I ended up doing a lot of work to it. Someone had put a crate 307 in it and did a bad job. I ended up pulling it and fixing all the little things and detailing it. In the end I wanted that car and wanted to sell my S10 but the folks wouldn't go for it.

A few years ago I was finally in a position to have a hobby car. I seriously looked at an 83 Hurst Olds not far from home but passed on it because I didn't want the 307, didn't want an automatic and didn't have the heart to cut up a clean survivor car, especially one of such low production numbers.

I bought my Grand Prix because it was advertised as new paint, rust free body with a 400 SBC and a 4-speed. It had started life as a diesel so who cares if it didn't have the original drivetrain. I got the car fever and bought it online sight unseen. Not the smartest thing I ever did. The good: It is a nice paint job and it is a really clean car underneath (no rust). I don't think it's ever been hit. The bad: The 400 was worn out and the guy that put the 400 and the 4-speed in the car was a hack. I have all of it out right now and am in the process of putting in a crate 350 and a T5. Sorry for the long post. I hope it was entertaining.

ill be 36 in june saw a gn when i was 7 and was hooked but did get my 83 regal
till december of 96 and got my licence first part of 97 and been not stop changing it since.
2 small block olds 350s then a olds 455 about 7 or 8 th350 trans got good at changing them
out got smart and did a th400 ran that 455 for 5 years also when did the 455 swap had to upgrade to better rear end and went w/ a 8.5 3.73
the 7.5 didnt hold up maybe a week. then wanted to start racing more in 05 and got talked
into a chevy 477 and now chevy 468 w/ th400 but going to do a 4L80e swap since i put the car back on the street w/ the 468
i had a 84 gn but by the time i got to it after i had the regal where i wanted it the gn was to far gone it rusted away in my
backyard and i parted it out didnt know what i had at the time and kick myself for doing that.
now i just picked up a 83 regal for my daughter and have ten years to build it she wants a clone of my car but
putting in olds 350 has to start small then big engine later. 81-87 regals i have a soft spot for but i love all g-bodys.
one day ill get my gn or my buddys gnx

35 and on my second gbody. When I was 12 or 13 my dad had an 85 Monte that he rebuilt the engine in and then got bored and sold it. Then when I was 14, he got a 78 Monte and needed money so he ended up selling that too. For years after that I never even thought about a gbody because every time they came into my life they ended up leaving me 🙁. Fast forward about 8 years later and my younger cousin had this car that I had never really seen before, it was an 84 GP Brougham. It was love at first sight and before I could even get a chance to make him an offer, guess what... you guessed it he sold it! :blam: Every since that day I vowed to get my own GP and did that when I was 24. She was the love of my life and my daily driver. Can you all guess what happened to her???? Yep, sold her too 😡, I just had my second daughter just almost a year apart from my first and I couldn't struggle with two car seats in a gbody so I had not choice. After I sold it I vowed again to get another one some day, which brings me to present day. I came into some money and nothing was going to keep me from getting another GP, not even distance. I searched every craigslist city in the U.S. and finally found just what I was looking for in Chicago, 5 hours away. So of course I drove there to get it and everything checked out. I got me a 1987 Pontiac Grand Prix with T-tops. The car was solid, in fact it was so solid I drove it all the way back with no problems and only had to stop for gas once. Sorry for the long story guys but you have to know my struggle in order to know the love I have for this car. Thanks for listening...lol

your problem is solved, they make bifocal contact lens. I have been wearing them for years

It's not the form the lenses are in, it's the lenses themselves. They affect depth perception and sense of balance, both of which are critical in handling a motorcycle. Without them the double vision was getting too severe to feel safe while riding, and with them I didn't feel safe getting on a bike to begin with.

Anyway, I don't have a bike now, and don't care to get one, so it's moot. I've gone soft! 😀

Not to get too far off-topic here, but .... I don't see how bifocal contacts could work. I move my eyeballs to look through the different lenses. If I did that with contacts I'd still be looking through the same part of the contacts, since the contacts move with the eyeballs! 😕
