Is anyone else shocked/not shocked or confused about the current G body market and prices

I used to post on the Buick sites 15+ years ago when I still had a desk job and spent a lot more time behind the key board.
I grew tired of the same people and the same subjects being beat to absolute death.
The superiority or exclusivity comments can be applied to other automotive groups such as
Corvette
GTR
Supra
Porsche 911
Bimmer Forums
Audi Forums
The Corral (Mustangs)
Heck, even Team Chevelle and Team Camaro guys can come off the same way.
I have been on all of these and they all have a holier than thou attitude. I suppose it could be taken as being proud of their car.
If you really want to see snobbery, go out to an autocross or road racing event where a Porsche or Corvette club is involved.

Don't get me started on 4th gen supra prices. The garbage people will rebuild for to get a tew-jay-zee or the prices they pay for a car that never sold that great orginally due to the high price and/or lack of defined benefits when compared to a corvette or 911 is laughable. I blame fast and furious for making them worth anything, just like Smokey did for late 2nd gen f body TA's.

People didn't buy turbo 6 speed supras new because the people that buy those cars new only did it to look cool to their neighbors or feel important at the country club (minus the few people that race or mod them). Saying "I have a corvette" or "I drive a porsche" has a better ring to it than "I drive a toyota supra" which meant nothing in the 90's.

Where's yours? Sold it, right? Only casually pop in to the forums to watch the drama unfold like a half-witted self-licking ice cream cone? It is nothing I want to be directly associated with any longer; and time is making it more toxic (greater than thou).

There are some real good people that I met and dealt with over the years (still are) - but, there were even more colossal ****tards and their disciples of stupid who made it intolerable. Admittedly, I drank half a cup of the Kool-Aid before I woke up from the trance, closed my wallet, opened my mind, and started to distance myself. It is bad juju... but, still so alluring (like a crazy hot-Ex).

Wait, What? Am I the ice cream?

Mine is gone because after spending a sh*t-load of money on it, it was completed and performing to my satisfaction. I was looking for something new to play with. Made a deal for another one and sold mine. New deal fell through after seller changed his mind about selling and then came the Cutlass.

Part of the problem with TR's is the cost to mod them and the catastrophic failure that occurs if your full boost tune is off or fuel delivery has a glitch. Bad things happen quickly. That's followed by a big bill to repair. Not to mention weak transmission fears.

I could detonate the 350 G.M. crate motor in the Cutlass all afternoon and it wouldn't grenade.

Yes, the attitude over there is a bit uppity. There's an abundance of experts and scammers. It's up to the reader to decipher the difference and think for yourself.

My friend from Ottawa is no stranger to that.

LOL - no you are not the ice cream. Unless you choose to be. 😉

Anyone who trys to convince you tuning with NBO2 sensors under WOT is an acceptable and safe method in 2019 needs a bolt gun straight to the cranium.

I paid $3000 for my LS V8 with stock wheels and 102 on the clock. Super clean in and out, garage kept old lady car.
