Is anyone else shocked/not shocked or confused about the current G body market and prices

Over on the Ford Panther forums, most of the guys are pretty decent. Through a few turn their noses up at P71s for not being refined despite having much better performance, but nothing real nasty. The one thing that can set them off is discussing police equipment, mainly lights as they are concerned about impersonators making the whole Panther community look bad. Push bumpers and factory spotlights are ok to talk about, just not e-lights.

I have had bad experiences with thd GN crowd too. They really like to rag on everyone else. Sadly the LS swap guys can be the same way with a similar superiority complex.

Totally Agree! I "get" giving suggestions or advice to ones that need it or ask, but when grown adults act like little babies telling others what to do with THEIR car and if they don't, and/or bash them with an entire new vocabulary because of what they did to their ride thats not conforming to their own personal views....really? I guess i don't get that mentality of people, their own self educed righteousness that truly makes them look ridiculous.

The world may not exist that far in the future. Wow a vinyl top, 307/TH200C/ with probably 2.14 gears, hell I will give him 25 grand, the check is in the mail....

Interestingly, the ad says 6 cylinders, the tag lines say V6, yet he claims it's a 5.0. Depending on when the car was built, it may not even have been able to receive a V8. There was a time in 84 production they had a shortage of V8s and only the big cars and the Hurst/Olds were able to be excluded from that V8 restriction at the time. They did make V8 Cutlasses in 84, but again, it just depends on when it was built.

Its got so bad at one of the cruse nights I go too that you have some of the stuck up , sh*t smells like roses Vette owners saving spaces with chairs or a coolers so you cant park next to them.

It's not just Vette owners. At the local Cars & Coffee last month, I at least asked if I could park next to a guy. He said he was expecting his buddy (who never showed up) but I was like, "Okay, thanks" and found another space.

You should scope him out at the next cruise and wave the article about your beautiful wagon in his face lol maybe he would think twice about turning down someone famous now 🙂 lol

I was looking around FB earlier, there seems to be more want ads for g bodies than there are cars showing up for sale. Going through searchtempest and FB marketplace here are far less now than there have been the last few months.... 🙁

I agree completely with the LS swap guys comment. I sometimes think the GN crowd lost some a-holes to the LS swap crowd. It's a funny idea that an engine somehow makes you or your car superior.

Well now... as a former Turbo Buick owner turned LS snob I feel triggered by this comment!

In my opinion the only thing that makes a car superior is its time slip/lap time and/or the amount of miles it gets driven each year (because stone chips are the greatest trophies).
