Is This A Scam?

Okay, okay. I'll try not to show off 😀

Here it is- 1998 BMW 323is, 2.5L I6. Arctic Silver Metallic on Dove Grey Interior. Everything works, A/C, heat, Harman Kardon 6 disc CD changer, heated seats. HID headlights and fogs. 17" Borbet 9 spokes that look good but could use a reconditioning. 245 series Michelins. Lowered 1". Slotted and Drilled Rotors and EBC (yellowstuff I think?) pads. I'd like to do coilovers but I think they might be a little aggressive for the street. Things that still need done-

1.Suede Headliner (doing later this week)
2. M Technik 3 Steering Wheel
3. BMW DS2 Wheels
4. M3 Bumper and Mirrors
5. Vader front seats

I have a certified check on the way and I will throw in an extra $1000 for your troubles and I will send my shipper there to pick it up for me.

I'm not really a 'BMW guy', or at least I wasn't when I bought the car, but I was looking for something a little sporty, well maintained, and with good A/C, and this fit the bill. It's really grown on me a lot. I'm here to prove not all bimmer guys are douchebags (just the vast majority of them 😉).

Okay, great! Are you sure you don't need any of my credit cards or perhaps my social security number to verify my identity? You wouldn't happen to also be a Nigerian Prince would you? 😀

you could have taken the certified check to your bank to have it verified for a few $$$

I could have, but cash is still king, and I know I'd have regret if I sold this car.

When I saw that you had updated this thread I was hoping it wasn't to tell us that it was a scam and you were now out the car and the money.
Looks like a nice car to keep.

That does look like a nice car. Just curious, how many miles are on it?

Oh, and thanks for not being a douche!! Lol

Don't count him out just yet give him some more time to drive it.

We just picked up an 01 325i 2 door black on black 5 speed for $1500 usd. They are great cars when maintained. Also had an 00 528i 4 door that we put staggered 19s on cleaned up and sold last month. I might end up keeping the 325i for my wife.

Cash rules in all deals. Anybody legitimately interested in a vehicle I think would take the appropriate measures to ensure they had cash.

In about 98, a very good friend of mine bought a 94 540 with th 4.0 V8 and 5-speed automatic. That car was fun to drive. It really was like it was on rails.

Nice car! I daily a 98 M3 sedan. I too was looking for a nice sporty car and try my best to be the opposite of the BMW douche stereotype.

Only bad thing is the relatively expensive parts. I'm sure you've read this before but I would seriously recommend replacing your coolant system if it hasn't been recently, especially the radiator/pump/and belts. I didn't take that advice seriously and ended up having the plastic radiator neck snap in traffic and it instantly overheated which warped the head. Luckily I had the skill and tools to replace it but it wasn't cheap and I still suspect the block may have cracked as it seems pressure still builds up very slowly in the coolant.
