The rear end and transmission will hold up just fine if not abused. The front end needs overhauled either way and a pair of springs will solve the rubbing. I think you would be way ahead with something that has run some miles and hung together. If you look at that 455, it's definately been running in something. Just my opinion. For what it's worth.

You can spend more money for pistons alone for the 350 and it will never make as much FUN as a 455. Buy 70 GS 455 mounts from T/A or use big body Buick frame stands, they are NOT the same as 231 and 350 Buick.

Disregard, you probably do need to stick with the 350.
