I've been at this for a long time. Even with me doing my own work (Cam bearings, removing-installing rods, heads ) I can tell your going to have bundle of cash in this motor. Maybe you might want to take the same route you did on your trans. Here's an upgrade option and located just north of you.

Well, after mulling it over, I'm still 50/50 on the 455. Sure, it's like my 350 but bigger. More power, they make aluminum heads for it, dual quad intakes, stuff like that. But on the other hand, it's a giant big block. My car's suspension is clapped out already, so much so the 195 tires rub in the wheel wells. I have a stock Th350 I got from a guy and while it still works, I don't know for how long, especially behind even a stock 455. Plus I have the weaksauce 7.5 one leg rear. And I'd have to figure out motor mounts, get a better radiator, do the oiling mods (455s need them way more than 350s do) to make sure it will live, and anyone can get an old dusty motor and say it's "rebuilt". It would end up costing the same to get the 455 situated and to my liking as it would to fix my 350 a few levels up from what it was. I think I'll stick with my 350 for now. I don't have a job, as I said before. I don't have to go nowhere, I don't have any bills to pay. I'm fine with just waiting for the right time to move on this. I'm betting it will be done by fall if I get a job where my dad works taking home 500 a week. In a month I could already have it where it was. I'm gonna go a bit further though. Block decked, try my hand at cleaning up the heads if I can find a guide online somewhere, 9.5ish compression, MSD ignition, all that fancy stuff. Oh, and suspension and rear end work for the regal. I'm fine with waiting. Thanks for the idea though.

A 455 Buick wont tax the front suspension. And at that 455s build level the stock rear is up to the task

I had a Buick 455 in an 86 cutlass with the same springs and rear. Iirc Buick big blocks are the lightest big blocks

What mounts did you use? What transmission did you have?

Was actually on stock 307 olds frame mounts. But would have bolted to the stock 231 mounts in my other cutlass. Had a th400 but if I did it again I'd go th350
