Doesn't look like much being the same color but everything mechanical, most of the interior and the body was completely re-done between the pictures

It might not be strictly in compliance with the OP's intent, but I'll give it a go. I bought my car brand new in August 1982 (it's a 83 GP LJ). The car has undergone major surgery a few times over those almost 40 years. The car never had rust issue, but most of the driving components have been changed (a few times) for aftermarket parts. For me it was "the journey" and not "the destination" that mattered. My son is following my footsteps and we're both having fun. So here goes:
