Could you teak the manifolds off and mount them facing forwards on the opposite side of where they are now. Would you have hood clearance??

you mean have them flipped and forward? Yes but I don’t like that look

I admit, it looks as bad as a hooker with no teeth but it might work. I saw a YouTube video the other night (you can tell how exciting my life is) that showed them mounting a turbo under the car back near the trunk. Any potential for that?

Great progress. Check out my build thread if you need any help!

oh trust me, your build has my attention long ago. I like your approach to how you put your car together..

There is but that comes with some sacrifices like lots of piping ($$$) and my understanding is you loose some response but the cost of the cold side piping, oil pump for turbo would steer me clear of this option

Great progress on your build, i like how budget minded this is and the knack for finding parts at the scrap yard. Great work

thank you. It certainly helps I work like 7 mins from a scrap yard so lunch breaks are often spent there.

I could spend a lot of money putting a car together but building an inexpensive, junkyard build is more of a challenge and fun to me. I do alot of research on what I want the car to do, and how I can do it with parts that already exist on other OEM cars. I don’t mind bastardizing my car and copying ideas I see on YouTube to meet my goal lol

Progress the speed of a glacier is still progress... picked up a full exhaust from a ‘15 Mustang (2.5”) for $25 so now I have all the piping I need plus slip joints.

This is what I have done so far.. the initials from the cashier at the junkyard still on the pipe, right beside the mud I grabbed the exhaust from 😂. It took a bit to figure how I could get around the PS pump and steering shaft without pie cutting a million times but I got it finally.

Tack welds are ugly but it’s fine. Function > form

Had to take a break, been working long days so I do small amounts of work at a time when I can. This hasnt yielded quick results but has allowed me to do a few things:

The feed line that I got with my kit was like 30 inches, which is too short when I’m getting oil from the cooler area on the driver side, with a passenger side mounted turbo. So I bought a longer kit with a 90 degree bend on the end. Should work well.
