Here I'll add my 2 pesos cause my 2 cents are not worth 💩. Just make it yours, a 1 of none. Look at all they styling details of all the GN's, T Types, basic turbo coupes, Century sport coupes, the '82 pace car. See what you like of each & see if those ideas will work in the big picture of how you really want the car to be like. Even take ideas from the older GS/GSX cars. At this point you have a blank canvas to work with.

Thank you for your comments I appreciate the help you give along with everybody else i been thinking what to do while reading all y’all comments. I have been looking at the older gn’s and regals and yes i am a fan of the 87 GN i also like the idea of making my own style! As of right now my plans for the clone have been going good me and my dad been working hard on it and all your comments been helping decide what we can do!

Hey RNG, I just did this, and it’s a lot of work 🙂
Of course there’s guys that will try to talk you out of it, but it’s your car and your cash. I had a super clean ‘85 Limited 3.8 and have wanted a GN since I could remember but hated the V6, cost too much to make fast, and breaks too easily. I know a lot of guys will be pissed at that , but pretty much the truth. I did all the visual swap and now swapping in a 5.3 and 78mm turbo, with the dreaded 4l60e trans.

Didn’t do much with the suspension, just Bilstiens and a big hollow sway bar. Handles good enough for me.
I got lucky and found a local guy that had a real GN in a field and unfortunately the car was rusted through, but I salvaged a lot of stuff.
Another thing I didn’t like was the dreary black and grey interior so I stuck with the tan that came on my limited and had the wrecked GN seats recovered to match. Scored also with the aluminum inner bumpers.
Don’t get GTA wheels and paint them, the paint won’t last and will need spacers. I got a set of 16x8’s off eBay for under $700. and they fit perfect and look awesome. Some things are worth buying already done.
Also, try to get as much as you can powder coated, the paint or plastic dip won’t last 6 months and will look like sh*t all chipped up.
I went with Quick Performance for the 9” rear and am very happy with it and then as a company. Gbodyparts, Mikes Montes, and Highway Stars are also all great vendors.
But... as much fun as building cars are, especially with family (I’m doing mine with my 8 yr old daughter) I honestly wish I never started this pita project... 🙂
Shoulda just bought something newer for the money. Anyway, let me know if I can help you in any way.

The gta mesh wheels from firebirds work without spacers if you use front wheels only due to there back spacing being 4inch. If you use the gta rear wheels then yes they require spacer since there backspace is like 5.25inch roughly.

Start by putting GN wheels on it. It will look great no matter what color the car is and may change your direction

P.s i have some really cool guys working on my paint and body work my dad knows them so we are getting extras for free im just hoping it comes out right! The pictures are my regal now they have sanded my spoiler down as i found one used but kinda messed up so they fixed it and that other one you can kinda see my gn hood! Its being worked on as we speak! Everyone there loves the gn idea snd wanna make it right as my birthday gift haha perfect timing my birthday is the 21
