Did you try revving it from under the hood? Sounds like when I had my positive cable burned threw and it was touching the manifold arching. Does your power in your interior flicker?

Yep tried under the hood too, revs nice , no hesitation just when you put it in gear and start giving gas is when it bogs. And the filter can't be clogged I've only ran this carb for a month !
It could be though, if the tank was ran low or if the fuel was old, or if the cars sit a lot. They're only a couple bucks, can't hurt anything.

+1 on the fuel filter, that filter is just a little guy it can be clogged new carb yeah, new lines and tank? No correct?. Good place to start. a few other options, do u have a weak plug wire? is your exhaust pluged? Or maybe a junk accelerator pump

He said if he revers it from the carb under hood its fine, its only when its under load that it bogs ..... would this not rule out fuel filter, choke ..etc??? But then I no expert and its 3am ....... I was wondering if the transmission fully in gear ..... idk ... shuts up and goes back to p*rn hahaha.

Just because it is a month old means nothing.

Check the filter

As a matter of fact just take it out completly and but an inline filter in regardless if that is the problem or not.

In the long run it will save you some headaches.

Is the trans shifting gears? Or are you riding around in first gear?

Since you changed the carb check the trans linkage.

If you played with the choke and nothing happened while idling, get a can of WD-40 and spray it on the carb and intake while the car is running. If the idle of the car changes at all you have a vacum leak find it and fix it.

And finaly where did you buy the carb??

You said it was a rebuild.... If you got it from Auto Zone / Advanced or any place like that return it for a new one while you can.

Those idiots can't rebuilt a starter or alternator right, let alone a Q-Jet

Just thought of this, did you check your TV cable?

Hey Guys, thanks for al the responses! Ok So yes my transmission shift, when the new carb was put on the old tv cable broke so that was replaced. So yes the transmission shifts into all of its gears. To see if the choke has power, wouldnt the red light on the dash be on? If so the red light is on so wouldnt that mean my choke is operating? I bought the carburetor from " Carburetor Rebuilder Co" They are in toronto and are a reputable company with alot of experience with Quadrajets. The only thing i could think with fuel wise was when i put a full tank in i bought a bottle of STP Fuel Treatment. But my Tank is at halfway empty now so that couldnt be the problem? Or could it 😳 Ill try to start the car later now that the engine is cold to see if the choke is working

you rely to much on things.

shouldn't the choke light be on............ yes in a perfect world but the car is how old??? bulbs burn out, sockets get corroded and so on.

Just because something is "new" does not mean it is good.

reputable or not everyone has a bad day.

the gas treatment would not cause a problem, but a bad tank of gas would. Go fill up with some premium and add a bottle of gasline antifreeze to get any water out of the tank.

Did you take out the filter yet?

lol thats true. I have not had a chance to take out the filter yet because of pouring rain here everyday. I just went outside to see if the choke still worked. It did work still so i guess we can rule that out. I Could try to go put some premium in and see how that works but ill wait for this storm to pass by
