Stopped by the body shop. Its getting closer to coming off the rotisserie, still needs to be undercoated. Some final primer/sealer in the jamb's and then the jambs, rockers, and glass opening area's will all be cut in before going back on the chassis. Hopefully by the end of September it will be back on the chassis and we can then get some doors ready and hung & work on the front end metal and finish up the tailgate and get it painted already.

Nice! Don't forget to put all the seam sealer back in the factory locations, drip rails, panel laps, etc. On a white car it will brown up real quick at the seams with out it.

I made that mistake with my elky, never put it back in the drip rail area and the brown bled thru the pearl white.

Can't wait to see some progress on your car!

Lookin' good, Ed.
Nice to see some progress. It would be cool to see the body mounted back on the frame. I'm sure you can't wait to see some color on it as well.

We replaced what needed replacing and left the rest alone. Mostly replaced the stuff in the jambs and we used the good epoxy stuff.

Nice

Looks awesome. Where do you plan to get all the weatherstripping from?
Are you in the market for weatherstripping?

Absolutely. I need all 4 doors and the tailgate.
I bought my door weatherstripping from RockAuto, which Is from Metro, and Priced right.

I got the window sweeps from Class-Tech-Cars on Ebay. Although they might be different for a Cutlass Cruiser. I think the bead might be wider for an Olds. I'm not sure.

The tailgate/ hatch opening seal was from a Plymouth Voyager or Dodge Caravan. That was a junkyard part..and cheap.
There's more than enough, and you'll end up cutting some off.

The tailgate beltline weatherstrip is unavailable. The best bet is finding a good used one.

As for the window channel, I'm still working on that. Stay tuned.

*Sorry to highjack your thread, Ed.

Looks good dude!

Even though mine has been painted for ten years, I still remember going through that process like it was last week. My problem is, I've built five cars in that ten years, none of which are my wagon. Hoping to change that real soon but you'll probably be done before I will. ...

Again, looks great, now is the time to take the time. The body guy is the artist, the painter is just the icer for the cake.

Scott, ...
