So I'm pretty sure the manual steering boxes from a 1982-1991 from a Chevrolet S-10 are the ones that we need for our G-Body cars........Here is my question, Some people say that you can use the pitman arm from the manual box and others say that you need to switch the pitman arms out with the stock ones from our cars....So what one do I/we use???

Re: Manusl Steering BOx ????

I have the s10 box in my wagon and used the s10 pitman arm with no problems. I also had another s10 box in my old Cutlass it also used the s10 pitman arm. I have heard of people running into a problem with the hole being to big for steering drag bar, but i havent ran into that problem.

The S10 box and pitman arm works perfectly in our cars.

I bought one off of ebay. never changed the pitman arm.

I think i paid $70 with shipping... well worth it.

I have a question to get in here. It's a bit off track, but on topic.

I was told years ago that a tilt column from a power steering car cant handle the the extra grunt need to turn a manual bax for long. Any truth to this?

I never heard that mentioned before, but I'd be curious if there's some truth to that...not that I'd ever go with a manual box.
I'm happy with my SS quick ratio unit.

Ive been running my manual box with my tilt column and its just as easy to turn the wheels as it was with the power steering. I also got 4" tires up front.
