When I was a kid I watched my new neighbor across the street paint his entire van with a roller in the driveway.

I have done it more then once to vans

I have used https://www.automotivetouchup.com/index.htm

With good results about a 1/2 different times on different cars.

The problem is your paint is old and weathered even if it doesnt look it.

This paint is new.

A shop can match the weathered color.

The trick is to fade the paint into the old paint with something like an overspray
Beside this the smaller amount of paint mixed the greater chance of not being a good/close match. If you want to use a "spray bomb", get maybe a pint or quart with everything needed to spray & get a Preval sprayer (https://preval.com/) then you'll have a better chance of a good match with a formula that you can have remixed when/if you need more.

I ended up getting a paint supply place to mix the color code and put it in an aerosol can. Match looks great, did the fillers and mirror today. Tempted to spray the menards $3 paint on the old mirror for fun to see how it looks.

Glad you didn't do it with the Menard's crap. It's not even CLOSE! Unless it was meant for an eggshell white car.
