If you do a frame notch are you gaining any clearance or do you have to do a mini tub as well?

I’m looking to run a 10in wide wheel in the rear.
I may go 22x10 in the rear to give it a different look once a year from the crager SS wheels

Are most people using pre fabbed mini tubs or is it better to make your own? Looking for a good winter project while I’m doing a rear disc conversion on my Malibu.

With a simple frame notch you will gain clearance without a mini tub. It all depends on the backspacing of the wheel you wanna run.

The more aggressive you are the more you stand to gain. Chop. Chop.

You don't need a frame notch or mini-tub as long as you don't use truck tires (2xx/40/22 tires) or have wheels with more than 4.5" backspacing.

I’m wanting to run a 275 or 315 rear. Most likely a 30-35 series . Do you have to roll the rear quarter panels in order to clear?

275, you should roll the lips; 315, you'll have to roll the lips and those may still be too wide of a tire to fit in there. 295 is the widest that I have used on any car.

When you do a frame notch you are basically cutting the frame to match where the wheel tub already is, there is little to gain with a mini tub since you can only notch so much before requiring moving the frame rails inboard to add clearance.
