My 83 Monte Carlo SS carb LS build

In regards to the wiring, there should be 2 purple and 1 black or red that ran to the starter....the purple should have fusible links and have one ring terminal hooking them together that does operate the ignition/cranking function.
I would thoroughly read the msd instructions for wiring it up. I would think you should be able to eliminate alot of the wiring since you are going carbed ls. Only need wiring for temp/pressure senders, alt, starter, carb if running electric choke, and whatever neededfor the coilpacks. I don't know the LS very well, but others on here should chime in as many have them carbed.
As for the front clip, to remove it as a unit there are 4 or 6 bolts at rear of inner fenders, remove inner wheel wells, rad body bushings, unplug headlights/marker and turn signals and pull wiring out of the clips. Hope this helps man.

thats what it looks like but also the red running there is broken, so i will have to reconnect it.

also will need the alternator wire i believe and i think thats pretty much it. is there a tach wire ? easily identifiable because I believe that I need to hook that to the MSD box.

If that monte had the factory hei there should be a white wire with a plug on it that plugged into the dizzy. Sorry i don't have a pic....been running efi for a decade now with an electronic dizzy, going off memory.

it's freezing out here lol been trying to do bits and pieces when it gets slow at the shop, pulled the pass side footwell computer out but didnt get to pull the wire harness out for that yet. ordered some more stuff, including the a/c delete box

ive seen a couple 85-86's converted to the later style but never an 83-84

oh you know what...the guy showed the car alot from what i can tell and he even got the trunk lock filled in and then repainted (if you look at the pic) he also had the wipers painted, windshield cowl, washer fluid container and some other stuff that my boys dad said was not factory in 83
