You love Fords... you love Fords... Twin I Beam suspension... 8.8 rears... dual fuel tanks are not a marketing gimmick...

Stopped out to U-Pull & Pay in Penn Hills and got a few parts. I found a better skid plate for the front sway bar. It was still a little bent but better than the other one. I got it fairly straight.

I disassembled the bars and brackets themselves, ive got to wire wheel or Evapo-Rust them and then put some kind of paint on them. Leaning towards a Hammerite-type paint. And of course I'll be ordering new links and bushings.

I also found an auto dimming mirror in an Eddie Bauer F150. I already have one that I got from a Bronco a while ago, but these were not very common, usually only seen on the highly-optioned trucks so worth grabbing. They are about 1.5" wider than most rear view mirrors so they provide better visibility. I haven't had my existing mirror hooked up since the windshield was replaced.

Last time I hooked the mirror up, I just used the pigtail and tapped into an existing circuit. This time I pulled the full wiring harness, and Fords are prewired for everything so it was a plug and play. The harness also includes wiring for illuminated vanity mirrors, so if I ever find a set of gray visors with them, it'll be a straight plug in. Gotta get my makeup just right, ya know.

I tested the premium sound CD player head unit I got on Saturday and it seems to be working fine. Rather than go apeshit trying to make the T-Bird harness work, I bought a wiring harness, amp, and bracket from a truck off of Ebay. I paid more money than I would' ve liked to, but it'll make it a direct plug in, no repinning or splicing necessary.

As a former stereo guy, I don't understand the fascination with factory stereos. They all sucked, especially in the 80s-90s. Only within the last 10-15 years have the OEMs stepped up to something halfway decent sounding. Way more work messing with that old crap for menial results. Just my .03.

For some of us, keeping the original air in the tires makes our socks roll up and down.🤣

That's hilarious!

I'm sure Joe will tell you that Ford Premium Sound systems are no picnic. They're bolted in like Fort Knox, and, as he mentioned, have weird connectors across different models.
That thing needs a Mach 460 with subwoofers out of a Crustang!
