Re: my build thread, HOOD IS ON !!!!!!!

So what good is a nice cowl hood if it isnt functionable ? i know thats what i was thinking. So i spent some time after work and fabricated this set up ! I used the top lip of the steel drum to sit in the stock air breather lid. (was full of 80w90 rear end fluid). Fits perfectly. Then cut it to the right angle i needed and made sure there was some space. Then i put on the old trunk seal top portion from my wifes impala i scrapped. Seals up and still allows the engine movement. I stacked 2 air filters to get it into the cowl for now and used a nut, some jb weld and a bolt i cut to extend the hold down. Also cut the original top to the exact size of the air filters. i used a 14" air filter to size the hole in the hood for the sides and it worked perfect.

Re: my build thread, functional sealed cowl !!

drove it today for the first time this year and love the screaming 4bbl ! not so good for fuel econ. Also found out why when you install a new intake you shouldnt use the rubber gaskets in the front and back. Mine is leaking and we all know how fun the good old REDO is ! $#%@

Re: my build thread, functional sealed cowl !!

Been awhile, working and driving the car, not much time to work on it. But today.......
