Monte Carlo fenders have a straight up and down edge where they meet the nose, Malibu/Elco fenders have a sloping edge

I thought that was the case. Maybe it's the lighting in the pictures that's hiding the fender line. Anyway, it's a great looking car.

That is an interesting front end. I would guess there is some custom work beyond the fender lower extensions.
