I feel ya sadly. Winter of 2015 I attempted to build one from scratch, so I bought the wagon and although it was quick and handled great for a rookie car builder, it was by far the worst year in racing I've ever had. Four blown motors and ruined the body and bent the frame. In the pic, i was winning the heat race and blew the motor taking the white flag. Last place car decided not to lift once i was at a dead stop and drilled me.
That's very unfortunate we had alot of car at my track get torn up bad this year blow motors we blew up a th350 and broke a rocker stud thankfully ,alot of younger drivers that are learning still and don't know how to stay out the way from the veterans guys that been there for awhile

Running a turbo 350 huh? I have in the green car I posted above but that was it. I like to run powerglides or saginaws but I've had enough of my powerglide. I'm swapping back to a saginaw setup, tire of eatting flywheels or starters and when something goes wrong i cant get push started. My dad has a clean 78 cutlass with factory sunroof we're building a motor for. Gonna slap the powerglide in it.

Thanks man, that's awesome! One thing about it for me is i know what to change and where to get parts to fix what i want. For example, I was taking the left front wheel off this SS and noticed it was wobbling like crazy. The bushing in the a-frame it shot allowing it to move back and forth. I have spares but think I'm gonna run a tubular set like what's on my wagon. Cheap and better.

Shoot my racecar doesn't even have close to that nice of stuff on it lol. Maybe one day I can get the SS like that. Love your Malibu, they're my favorite. I cringe every time I see one turned into a dirt car. At least mine yellow Malibu was already a racecar by the time I got it lol

The guys who run powerglides at our track get run over on the starts cause they have to start in high gear th350s we start in second gear, guy this season just showed up with a malibu ,265 v8 q jet ,4 speed we all laughed including the tech guy seeing we have to run "stock" 350s 2 jet carbs th350s ,dude was just starting out learning

This SS has wires all around the q-jet, and I just want to know if I change it to a holley will it still run. Ill be putting a 1850 holley 600 on it.
You can change to a Holley but you will have to use a standard HEI in place of the computer controlled one, at that point you might as well eliminate all of the computer/emissions equipment.

My wagons not stock. We run a 1/4 mile track, 6.83 final. I run a ford 9" and on the restarts my car will shift if we slow down enough. I run either a 4412 2bbl or a 1850 600 holley 4bbl, thats the chocies we get stuck with.

thank you for responding on that. I got impatient and yanked the q-jet off today. I cut the hoses off and all the wires were already broken or chewed off so nothing really mattered anyway electrical wise. What's the pod bubble looking thing around the throttle cable? do I need that? I put my 2 bbl holley on it and runs a lot better. Still needs a tune up but moves under its own power and still spins the tires lol
