I personally prefer the smooth lip. The stepped ridge makes sense in a roll-formed steel wheel where for mfg and materials having to be where they have to be, it had to be stepped, but since its cast and not needed, I'm glad they got rid of it. I think it looks cleaner to not have the steps.
Import people put gaudy fender flares and tip the wheels funny directions so they can have "deep dished" wheels and us with our old junk can run 4" dished wheels like nothing. I'm not sure why stance people (or diesel bros) like that look but that's another discussion....
I sure love my 15" GTA wheels I have on my cutlass but these new ralleys would convince me to go another direction.
The real question, are they going to offer them in other colors or bare alumimum? Pontiac ralleys are predominantly charcoal grey and silver, but Olds ralleys don't have a standard color and nothing would hurt more than painting brand new $1000 sets of wheels to match the car color.
