Houston we have a problem!!! Was getting spray paint out and noticed a moldy smell. Got the floors cleaned out and found this!

smells like something died! Got out the wet/dry vac and pulled a lot of water out. Have the doors open and a fan blowing on it for now. Guess I’m yanking the seats and carpet tomorrow.

Ok got the seats out, drivers seat was saturated underneath. If I pushed down on the top, water would drip out! Pulled the rug. Glad I did! The passenger side padding was soaked and there was visible water on the floor board. Only 2 small rust holes, I feel very lucky!

Most of the rust will clean up with a wire wheel, it really looks worse than it is. One rust hole on drivers floor pan under the seat, one on passenger side in the rear pan. While I’m in here I’ll drill out the spot welds on the rear seat mounts and move them back to fit the new seats. These are the seats I scored for FREE on Facebook market place! The rear mounts are about 3 inches further back.

Been a while since I’ve posted, life is life. Started a new job back at the beginning of October, I’m a service advisor at a 7 bay mom and pop tire/ auto shop. I love it, forgot how much I liked being a service writer. Also had to do some work on the wife’s car for inspection. But anyway got my spindles and backing plates painted today. They are looking great.

I got a tip from a friend that works at a high end VW resto shop. Swears by this for chassis and undercarriage. It’s oil based and 2 part. Goes on great, it’s very thick and covers well! It’s like $9 a quart or $30 a gallon. Catalyst is $15 and has enough for a gallon

Haven't updated for a bit. Moved right after Christmas. New house is bigger, huge yard, and we may be able to buy it!. Drove the car to the new house, a whole 8 miles. It's the furthest its gone in 3 years. ran good, a few WOT pulls to clean her out. Fun times! Car has a new home next to the shed. You can see it there, this is a view from my back door.

Been getting parts here and there. Got a poly trans mount, proforged tie rod adjusters, a new center link, a new welder. Then I scored a new hood, rear bumper, dash surround, and the lower rear window trim, all for $95!!! While I was under the car I noticed the frame was CHERRY! The guy wants $50 for both. Trying to get over there because he wants to strip whats left (Not much) this weekend and get rid of it.

Well hooked up the battery and she started right up! moved her around to the drive to unload some parts. I scored a free rear from FB marketplace! I love car guys who are just trying to get rid of stuff because of upgrades. So with that said, that rear is getting dropped off today to get rebuilt with my locker dif and 3.73 gears!!
