Cage is looking good I hope you are going to put the front bars in too. Keeping the dash bar behind is good for the looks. Also consider x'ing the doors.
Thanks man, it wasn't the most fun to do.

Going to put the motor and trans in, get the hot side of the turbo mocked up and find/make homes for the ECU and relay boards before I make a call on the front bars. I am leaning heavily towards having them I just wanna see what I have for real estate before I make a plan. Kinda the same with the door bar crosses, Once I get the door bars in I will make a plan. Someone may have cut a door bar an inch or two shorter than planned, and 1 5/8" Cromoly is a b*tch to find up here.

Good idea waiting on the front bars but they would add strength and rigidity and would be a big plus should you ever sell. Same with x'ing. If you do any cutting, fitting of your dash I found a tootsie roll (barrel) sander works great.

OMC - I binge watched the 1st 3 or 4 seasons a couple of years ago. IIRC it was while I was recovering from a knee replacement - maybe it was the pain meds, but I lmao for two days.

Good progress today, despite having to do date duty at the farmers market with the sweety pie. I did get some delicious homemade salsa and Ukrainian perogies with cabbage rolls, so that was acceptable.

I got after things and got the drivetrain installed and bolted in. Popped off the rad support out and did the install as one piece, so much easier that way. This frees up a bunch of room in the garage and makes me feel like I am making progress, the cage work has been bogging me down.

Sexy motor pic time. BOOYAA! hahaha

Good update for the thread today, made some decent progress finally.

Started off by slathering the epoxy primed fish plates and bottoms of the tubes through the floor with some paintable undercoating. (Mike, please note the new poly bushing)

While that dried up at bit I decided to test fit the intake with the accessory drive, not much of a shocker but it didn't get along well. Truck Idler keeps the intake WAY far from fitting, so I am going to have to make some changes on the belt drive.

By the time I got over that disappointment the undercoating was good to go so I started fitting metal back into the holes from the cage. I decided to use the pieces I cut out and fit in anything extra after, they were already the right shape.

First one was a mulligan, probably didnt need a 2" hole, and we learned more about fitting things in the process.

Most of the driver side is done and welded in. Got some more tacking to do tomorrow and finish up the passenger side, once these are closed up I can fit the door and dash bars and be done with this cage business.
