What size is the 3.8" mid pipe? I am guessing small, make sure it is not too small. A resonator may help and I say run as big a possible Dynomax Super Turbo muffler. It should help power and mileage. My 3800 was ungodly loud with not cat and a glass pack, even louder than my 70S, hoping the Maximum Flow mufflers vs the Aerochamber mufflers will make enough of a difference on it. The computer is hopefully learning and mileage will get better and better. It is a race to see who gets to 30 mpg first, you have a couple of months to catch up being dam cold her and my 88 is parked. Watch out with taller, narrower tires and the Ignitor 3 module, come on 30 mpg!

It's 2.25" all the way back. I don't know how much longer it's going to last. There is a guy in town that bends pipe; I may see how much he'll charge to do 2.5".....
Also, think I may have figured out the sender problem. It still drops to empty when full, but eventually starts working. At 1/4 tank, I put 8 gallons in, and if it's a 16 gallon tank (4.3 TBI Monte), it should have been at half. I'm thinking that if I tweak the float arm up a bit, it should work correctly. I was so caught up in getting the gauge to work on the new resistor that I completely ignored the float position. To quote Fred G. Sanford: "Ya big dummy!" D'OH!

A working fuel gauge is nice, my 70 had the usual dead fuel gauge, new sender fixed it. I like those S-10 exteme wheels with a 225/60R16 tire using the Olds Gmail rpm calculator which is accurate for a lock up trans rpm, my go to calculator, preset with 2004R's .67 OD. With your .70 OD, I get 1850 rpm at 60 mph, 2150 at 70 and 2450 at 80 mph with 235/55R16 tires and 3.42 gears. I had no idea the .3 better 2004R OD made a 150 rpm drop with everything else the same, makes a bigger difference than tire size unless you from one extreme to the next.

Hard to get good mileage with WOT pulls. They hurt the milage more than you would think.

A little update: mileage is up to 22 (rough estimate with same parameters).
Gauge is screwier; put 6 gallons in to top off on less than 1/4 tank.:wtf:
So...you really don't know how bad your mileage is?😉
Not really. Hope to fix it Sunday

I think I fixed the fuel gauge! I tried the 2k resistor trick that I found; no good. Then, I got to thinking, and just for sh*ts and giggles, I installed a diode on the sender line, It went from 1/4 tank to 3/4 tank where it should be!:banana::banana::banana::banana: Let's hope it works...

Hmmm, not good

Also, put a new alternator on, and the chirp is gone.
Yes, the belt is a little screwed. It caught the end of a hose clamp.
