I like sbc's for availability and decent power. For a high rpm screamer, I would take the big block Chrysler 383 with it have a 3.38 stroke, less than a sbc 350, and for a torque monster my choice would be the Chrysler 440. My malibu will get one of these motors way down the road lol.
Sacrilege!

Nah. I get so bored looking at sbc and bbc under the hood of a chevy. Definately throw people off walking up and seeing a big block chrysler under a chevy hood.

This is true! But why not an Olds, Buick or Pontiac?

Cause I already have a 383 and a 440. The spare 383 is going into the roadrunner so the malibu will probably get the 440. Hell I even have a friend with a couple of hemi blocks. Hmmm....

I am surprised no one is raking him over the coals for wanting to "destroy" the car by putting a Chrysler in it. Put a chevy in another gm product, "HOLY CRAP THAT IS HORRIBLE, YOUR GOING TO HELL." A Chrysler is ok though.
I am not picking on you about putting a different engine in your car, just how nobody has jumped on the purist bandwagon yet.

It's because this thread is getting old and most people have already spoken their mind on the subject. If it makes you feel better though, I think putting a Mopar engine in a Chevy car is stupid.

Opinions are like *ssh*les, everyone's got one! Everybody on here has some kind of brand loyalty and they stick to it. Some of us like traditional old school engines, some like modern mills, some people can't fix anything but a Chevy and I don't know what the hell you're thinking Pat!

Just giving you sh*t man! That would definitely be something you don't see every day. If we didn't try something different once in awhile we'd all have cars with SBC's, V6's and 307's....and the occasional 301!
