Our 79 Monte Carlo- Pro Touring Project

Awesome pro-touring thread. I stumbled on it while I was researching wheels for my own 79 Monte; I like Boss since they're made in the USA. What size wheel and tire combo are y'all running? Backspacing? I'll probably upgrade my front brakes in a similar fashion-did you have any issues with the valve stem hitting the front calipers? Thanks for the info. Keep up the great work!

Well let me apologize for the lack of delays! The busy season hit and I just couldn't keep up.

Anyways, the car is complete (for now) and did its first autox ride along event last week, it did awesome and was a great hit among customers. They loved the "Budget" build concept and couldn't believe a car so ugly (ugly to them, not me haha) could handle so well.

I will share some pictures of the car on the track soon. In the meantime I need to back up and share older photos that I haven't got to yet.

Below is the factory spindles and what we had to cut off of them to run the front C5 brakes on this car:

are those factory spindles using the small bearings?...if they are you may have a problem getting new wheel bearings..we did so we got rid of those spindles when we raced a metric.
