Narrowing the rear or do you have a novel way to keep the fender off of these?

We'll just use the proper offset (which we don't know yet) and do some fender massaging. The tire fits in there so we should be good. I'll keep the thread updated

Rear axle will remain stock.

I just know I'm going to regret limiting my 442 to 275s already. But going from 8" of S-tread from a 9.6" tire back there to 10" of Z-tread from a 10.9" tire is bound to help. Of course, I also know that going to even 285s would have required rolling or cutting the fenders on mine at least which I can't do on a show quality car so 315s is going to be interesting. This is not being insulting by any means. I love the innovative stuff you guys come up with. That's why I own about $3000 of it . . .

And, though I want to just occasionally play auto-x and run a few tracks, if I get the serious bug before death do me part . . .
I can always change my mind! :doh:
 
I have a question about your frame notch. Are you going to alter the wheel well? Mini tub, fabricate, or big hammer? I have the same car and can not see gaining any thing from the frame notch with out altercation of the wheel well.
 
More 315 action on the UMI Monte. We used our new notch kit and welded the frame back shut, it turned out well. We took the Forgestars with 315s off our 4th gen and used a bunch of different spacers along with our wheel tool to mount them on the car. These combined with our homemade wheel tool helped us to dial in the wheel size.

On the G-Body the frame is wider than the rear wheel wells. So you can trim half the frame out and add approx. two inches of tire width with out touching the wheel wells. Take a second and look under it and you'll quickly see. I hope that helps.
 
When I notched the frame in my wagon, with trimming the lip, and a notch to the seam, all I had to do was massage the inner wheel wells flat and I run a 315-35-17 Nitto NT555 no problem.
