I seem to be having trouble seeing the pics of the fresh engine that I'm sure you posted  .

Yeah, meant to get some last weekend but I totally forgot, what with getting hot and dirty with my heads. I'll be sure to get some on Friday.

As for the Knightmobile as is... I haven't been driving it as much as I should be. Mainly I'm having problems with the carb(Edelbrooooooooooock! ) and one of it's fuel-air mixture screws perpetually loosing itself, resulting in starting off at a nice idle then slowly sliding up to a continual extra fast idle. Not exactly the best for the mileage, or for not melting down when it's hot, which it decidedly was for the past six months. I'm contemplating using some liquid teflon or weak hold off-brand Loctite to compensate for the oversized threads as a mickey mouse fix until I yank the entire front end. Also the stock front springs are hella mushy, and that gets right up my *ss when coupled with Tulsa's lumpy roads.

On the plus side, ye 307 now has a future beyond being sold as scrap iron, as my crazy *ss father wants to give it a freshen up then stuff it in a motorcycle. Damn weird *ss old bikers, I swear.

Very nice car. Consider dumping the Edelbrock and replace it with a Street Demon. You will gain mileage and driveability.

The Edelbrock is only going to last until I pull the 307, as the 350 is getting a Quick Fuel Q-Series E85 carb. With the 10:1 compression the engine is most likely going to have, and the general lack of any high octane gas anywhere in the area, E85 is the only real option for getting the most out of my new engine. Plus, it burns clean and, despite what the big fuel-chugging Cutlass and Dodge Ram might imply, I'm kind of an eco-freak.

They don't quite perfectly line up with the front clip, but I suspect there may be twenty eight years of slight heat warping and probably a few less wild animals to blame for that. Or maybe I just put them in slightly wrong? Hm.
Looks like your bumper cover is not aligning with the bumper correctly because your bumper is slightly pushed in and the license plate delete plate is constraining the bumper cover to the pushed in bumper.

Hm, that makes sense; I'll have to take a close look at it and see what I can do about adjusting the bumper position, or at least relieving some of the tension from the delete plate. Possibly via usage of ample washers. If at first it doesn't fit, shim it. If it still doesn't fit, shim it more. If that fails, actually fix the problem. Thanks for the heads up!

Engine Pics time!

First off, my rotating assembly. ARP bolts holding together fairly light weight Eagle forged steel H-beams, which may or may not actually be Chevy rods, all stuck on a rather vigorously balanced grey cast iron stock crank. Bill Trovato rates the grey cast iron crank for up to 400HP no problem, and I doubt I'll be very close to that, so it probably won't explode. Probably. Also shown is a Melling high volume oil pump, because oil is good!

Next up is my squared deck and flat top Ross Racing custom forged aluminum pistons, contributing half of my rather high compression ratio while being light enough to reduced rotating weight, and thus stress on the crank.

My faithful assistant Helper Cat*, ready and willing to lend a paw! *Note: Helper Cat is in no way shape or form helpful.

Profile shot of the engine, because Olds metallic blue paint from Hirsch is dead sexy.

One of my 8 heads decked down .060~, dropping the massive 79cc chambers down to a much more reasonable 69cc. The other half of my rather high compression ratio. Currently on the bench for port matching, SMOG bump removal, and exhaust port polishing.
