Ok guys, I need some opinions here real quick.
I finished up the driver’s side piece by getting the final finish to 220 grit and installed it on the car to fine tune the scratch pattern so it looked right:
My dilemma now is that if you look closely I left the recess in the trim as only the nickle plating sanded, thinking it wouldn’t be that noticeable being a different color, but now that I see it on the car I’m not so sure:
(I know it’s a bit hard to see, but it’s the best I could do with the glare)
The problem is that the nickle layer is extremely hard and very difficult to sand/grind off, and in the recess there it would be nearly impossible to do nicely without ruining the definition of the edges.
What do y’all think I should do, attempt to strip this area right down to nothing too, or leave it and clear it “as is”?
I’m to the point where I need to make the decision very VERY soon.
Thanks, I need some input on this!
