Unfortunately most AC Delco is Chinese or Mexican made, neither are particularly good. My AC Delco Mexican CS130 reman lasted a year. My current AC Delco Remy has lifetime warranty, has squeaked since new.
I said "old school" stuff from ACDelco. The parts that were made likely in the 90s on back, not the chinesium crap they made later on. They're almost all crap now. There is a difference. That's why I stock piled the good stuff like ignition system stuff, alternators, starters, sensors, TPS, and M/C solenoids before it went across the oceans. Although some of it was already there back then. I got green stripe R46SX plugs out the azz. One year for Christmas, I was sending out 87 442 Delco plug sets as gifts for cripes sake. I got older Delco stuff from Japan, U.K., Singapore, Korea, plus other interesting places. Doesn't automatically mean it's bad, but I'll put a Delco part on and take my chances before I would a known chinesium knockoff. Delco used to put the country of origin on the package depending on the part if it wasn't made in the USA. They did it a lot with sensors, anyway. Later on I guess they didn't care.
China's been supplying automakers around the world on other stuff, too, for years. For example, early on, the smoked silver color for the 2010 era Camaro SS/RS 5-spoke wheels (Midnight Silver) was a special paint made in...China. Because that's where the wheels were made. People couldn't find the color anywhere, and when they did, they had to wait for it had to be imported.
Not saying all imported parts are terrible. I learned this off a GM exec years ago...USA manufactured OEM GM brake rotors are limited on a certain element (I'm getting too old so I forget which one) which ends up allowing the rotors, especially on the 98-02 Camaro/Firebirds to warp easier. However, rotors physically made in Korea didn't not have that limitation, or didn't back then, anyway. He recommended if you could get decent Korean rotors, do it.
